The 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee is the newest version of Jeep’s classic full-sized SUV. This year has brought a few notable changes to the model to keep it at the forefront of the market.

Basics About the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee

The Grand Cherokee has been a staple in Jeep’s lineup since 1993 and is the larger version of the classic Cherokee that has been in production since 1974. The history behind the Grand Cherokee means that great care has been given to the 2023 update, as its popularity and market size are already well-established.

The base model of the Grand Cherokee offers the mainstream ruggedness that Jeep is so well-known for, while higher-level trims add luxury features like additional entertainment screens, more storage space, and off-roading capabilities.

New Features in the 2023 Grand Cherokee

Engine and Powertrain

The standard 3.6L V6 engine in all other models of the Grand Cherokee offers 293 horsepower that offers an average fuel efficiency of 19 mpg city and 26 mpg. Arguably the biggest change in the 2023 model year for the Grand Cherokee was the introduction of a new hybrid engine and powertrain.

The 4xe is a plug-in hybrid that combines a 2L four-cylinder engine with an electric traction motor for a combined 375 horsepower and a fuel efficiency rating of 23 mpg city and 24 mpg highway. In a pinch, the electric motor can get an extra 26 miles of range on an empty tank with a full charge.

Interior

The 2023 Grand Cherokee has gotten a complete facelift on the inside of the cabin. You can choose between the standard two-row Grand Cherokee or the three-row Grand Cherokee L for more cargo and passenger space.

The standard trims come with an 8.4-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and SiriusXM. This can be upgraded in higher trims to a 10.1-inch screen, an additional 10.3-inch display for the front seat passenger, and a complete navigation package.

Safety

The 2023 version of the Grand Cherokee also comes standard with several safety features that can help prevent a collision on the road. These include pedestrian detection with automated emergency braking, built-in lane departure warning, and lane-keeping assist capabilities.

Warranty

One of the best things about Jeep is their generous warranty and maintenance packages, and what’s included in the 2023 Grand Cherokee is no exception.

The limited warranty covers your vehicle for three years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. The powertrain is covered separately for five years or 60,000 miles, and you also receive three years of scheduled maintenance with your purchase.
